Fitzroy:
Fitzroy, which was originally part of the Woiworung tribe, became Melbourne's first suburb and smallest city when it was detached from the City of Melbourne in 1858.
Fitzroy has had the largest variety of building styles in Melbourne from the early colonial years. On Gertrude St, there are the oldest surviving terrace homes in Melbourne, as well as a Flour Mill and MacRobertson's Confectionery Works, which made chocolates such as Old Gold, Cherry Ripe, Columbines and Freddo Frogs. Cadbury Australia purchased MacRobertson's in 1967.
The newly merged firm still continues to produce several of the former company's chocolates in its Ringwood facility, including Freddo, Old Gold, and Cherry Ripe, which retained the company's distinguishing emblem on its wrapper until 2002.
Coffee and Chocolate Brioche is a perfect scent for the historical businesses of the Fitzroy district, which today houses some of the city's best bakeries.
Coffee & Chocolate Brioche:
Be tempted by the scent of freshly baked Chocolate Brioche and the indulgence of dark chocolate, strawberry, redcurrant, tonka bean and vanilla.
