The Wurundjeri people, who called this location Iramoo thousands of years ago, have a long history with Brunswick. When the Borough was established in 1857, it was given local government authority; it was renamed the Town of Brunswick in 1888 and the City of Brunswick in 1908.

In 1839, Robert Hoddle's assistant, William Drake, surveyed 16 100-300-acre allotments. The "Sydney Rd" was a primitive north-south road that ran through early allotments and six kilometres south to Melbourne.

Between 1846 and 1865, Brunswick's population increased from 146 to 3000, creating a housing need. Newcomers were recruited by stone quarries, brick and pottery factories, and steel mills.

In Brunswick's small, close-knit village, affluent and impoverished residents coexisted. There were a few more opulent homes inhabited by middle-class factory owners, merchants, and professionals, with the scents of Flint, Tobacco, and Vanilla wafting from the various companies and fresh-baked delights in the air.

Flint, Tobacco & Vanilla:

Alight with fiery ambers and smoky incense, Dry Tobacco and Hay is warm, homely and, above all else, earthy in essence. With honey laying at its core and musk at the base, this scent is well rounded; not too smoky, not too sweet... just perfect!

Top Notes: Fresh hay and tobacco leaf, Tangerine, Lemon

Middle Notes: Honey, iris and rose, Coconut, Malt

Base Notes: Amber, incense and musk , Vanilla, Musk
